I am joining Menu Plan Monday hosted by Org Junkie and What’s for Dinner? Menu Planning Linkup hosted by Jill Conyers and Mommy Run Fast this week to share what we’re eating. The only topic I like to chat about as much as books is food!
I’m a little late in sharing this week’s menu plan since I was busy shopping yesterday and it took me FOREVER to figure out what I wanted to make for our semi-traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year. Also, this sale on Blog Clarity’s Content Brew content planning course started yesterday and I had to rave about what a great class this was.
This Week’s Menu Plan:
The Girl Who Ate Everything’s Copycat Macaroni Grill Penne Rustica. I made quite a few changes to the recipe so my version is really just Penne with Chicken but the boys love it. It’s creamy, delicious and easy to pack in the thermos for a hot lunch for the kiddos. They love it so much they ask for it everyday in their lunch till it’s gone.
Sausage, egg, cheese and hashbrown tacos
Leftovers and fish sticks, french fries and green beans. It’s my weekly night off and we’re having a Twitter chat to discuss Waiting for Snow in Havana for a Travel the World in Books reading challenge event.
Not sure here either…isn’t it all just waiting for Thursday?
Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it! Last year I made a bunch of traditional Thanksgiving food (but my Rotisserie Chicken in A Bundt Pan instead of a huge turkey) and the little guys weren’t crazy about it. Yes, the kids who don’t like chocolate or cake, also don’t like sweet potato casserole or stuffing!
This year I decided to ask my boys what their favorite dishes are so we have a hodge podge of food and the in-laws are bringing the more traditional Thanksgiving dishes. At least I know my boys will eat well with this menu and to me being with family and stuffing ourselves with good food is what Thanksgiving is all about.
Bacon Nutty Cheese Ball with crackers
Fruit and veggie tray
Jalapeno-Garlic and House Marinated Steak Tips from a local butcher. Seriously good, better than a steakhouse. Thankfully weather is cool but clear so grilling should be ok on Thursday 🙂
Sweet Potato Casserole
King’s Hawaiian Rolls
Rudy’s Slow Cooker Creamed Corn
Cornbread Stuffing Muffins from A Spicy Perspective
Cranberry Orange Relish
Apple Pie from I Wish I Lived in A Library
Buttermilk Waffles Recipe from Cooking Classy and bacon. A family favorite and I haven’t made it for the in-laws yet.
Ham/Cheese Paninis and Crock Pot Enchilada Soup from Skinnytaste
Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki from This Silly Girl’s Life, brown rice and sauteed broccoli
French toast with fruit
I created a couple weekly planner printables to incorporate my menu plans into my week. Check them out and download for free if it will help you with your weekly goal and menu planning.
What’s on your menu plan for this week? What do you have cooking for Thanksgiving? Are you hosting or traveling?
